San Tan Valley infant drowns in pool

A San Tan Valley infant passed away on Feb. 12 after falling into a pool on the 34000 block of North Barzona Trail, reports the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.

The one-year-old female child had been at the residence with her grandmother. The backdoor was reportedly left open and the child eventually fell into the family pool.

The grandmother discovered her some time later and performed CPR until emergency medical personnel arrived. The child was pronounced deceased at Cardon Children’s Hospital in Mesa.
